Xenus 2: White Gold hay còn gọi là White Gold: War in Paradise là phần tiếp theo của tựa game Boiling Point: Road to Hell do studio có trụ sở tại Kiev, Deep Shadows phát triển.



Nhân vật chính của chúng ta là một cựu chiến binh thuộc một lực lượng quân sự đặc biệt hoạt động ở khu vực Caribe. Trong một nhiệm vụ nguy hiểm, đồng đội của anh bị tiêu diệt gần hết, chỉ còn mình anh và 1 người bạn sống sót. Người bạn của anh dần dần mất trí nhớ còn anh chìm vào men rượu.

Lúc này tại châu Âu và châu Mỹ xuất hiện một loại ma túy mới có tên gọi là White Gold. Rất khó phân biệt loại ma túy này với các loại ma túy khác như co-ca-in nhưng tác hại của nó thì không thể tưởng tượng được. Rất nhiều người đã chết, chính quyền đã cử người đi để tìm hiểu nhưng những gì họ nhận được chỉ là xác các nhân viên của họ.


Chính phủ đã phải gọi lại nhân vật chính với một đề nghị hấp dẫn mà anh không thể từ chối. Cuối cùng nhân vật chính thấy mình có mặt trên một hòn đảo của vùng Caribe nơi anh bắt đầu công việc điều tra.

Boiling Point: Road to Hell


, Xenus 2: White Gold lại mang âm hưởng, cơ chế gameplay và sự pha trộn giữa yếu tố RPG và FPS như đàn anh của mình. Người chơi sẽ được tự do trong một thế giới rộng mở với những khu vực cực lớn, đủ các loại vũ khí và rất nhiều phương tiện cơ giới cả trên không, trên bộ và dưới nước.


Hệ thống phát triển nhân vật đã được mở rộng và cải tiến hơn nhiều so với Boiling Point: Road to Hell. Ngoài ra hệ thống kỹ năng (perk), cơ chế chiến đấu tay đôi (hand to hand) cũng là những nét mới. Những cái tiến đáng kể như vậy sẽ khiến người chơi có nhiều lựa chọn hơn trong việc tùy chỉnh và phát triển nhân vật và nhiều tự do hơn trong việc trải nghiệm game theo ý muốn của mình.

Game sử dụng Vital Engine 3 hỗ trợ Shader Model 3 với các hiệu tân tiến như HDR, Depth of field và Motion blur. Cơ chế vật lý đã được cải thiện đáng kể nếu so với Vital engine 2 giúp người chơi lái các phương tiện cơ giới dễ dàng hơn, nhiều vật thể có thể bị phá hủy hơn và tạo sự liền mạch trong thế giới của game giảm đáng kể thời gian loading để chuyển cảnh.


Với những đặc điểm, những cải tiến nổi bật so với Boiling Point: Road to Hell, hy vọng rằng Xenus 2: White Gold sẽ  mang đến một thiên đường nhiệt đới giống như những gì FarCry đã mang lại.
